Hello from my garden
Hi, I’m Sue, the artist behind Greenstitch. My tea towels are my way of sharing what I love about nature: the shapes, the colors, the little things that make me pause in my day. Watching the bees in the gaura, finding a shed snakeskin, gathering seed pods for my holiday table.
But my favorite part comes later, when customers tell me who they gave a towel to and why. That shared joy is what keeps me sketching.

What are Greenstitch tea towels made of?
Each towel is made from 100% flour sack cotton, 19 x 28 inches, with a hang loop. They’re designed by hand in Portland, Oregon, and printed and sewn in the USA. This fabric is soft, absorbent and lint-free, so it’s ideal for drying glasses and dishes.
Are the designs original?
Yes, every design is my own original artwork. Each one starts in my garden or on a walk around Portland: a seed pod, a hollyhock, a crow on the trail. I sketch, use acrylic markers and sometimes paint or carve lino blocks to capture the shapes and colors, then turn the designs into a pattern. From garden sketch to kitchen cheer – it’s my way to share the joy it brings me.
Are Greenstitch tea towels a good gift?
Yes, they’re a lovely gift for almost anyone with a kitchen: a hostess gift (wrap one around a bottle of wine), a potluck dish cover that the host gets to keep, flowers all year for gardeners, or a little piece of Portland for graduates and anyone who’s moved away. Gift sets of two come tied with ribbon and a tag.
Are Greenstitch tea towels machine washable?
Yes. Machine wash warm, hang to dry, and iron on the reverse for a crisp finish.
